Trump Up on Immigration, Still Better Than Obama

Thursday, April 05, 2018

President Trump recently announced his plan to send military troops to the Mexican border to help prevent illegal immigration until his border wall is built. Just over a year into his term, voters see Trump’s handling of immigration as a mixed bag, but that’s better than how they felt about Obama.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 44% of Likely U.S. Voters think Trump is doing a good or excellent job handling issues related to immigration, including 27% who give him excellent marks. That’s up from 38% who gave the president positive marks on immigration in August. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
