Election 2008: Romney Still Trailing Clinton & Gore

The latest Rasmussen Reports Election 2008 poll shows that Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney (R) still trails both former Vice President Al Gore (D) and New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. Gore leads Romney in our January poll 50% to 39%. That’s little changed from a month ago when Gore bested Romney 48% to 39%. Clinton now leads Romney 49% to 41%. She also held an eight-point advantage in December, leading then 48% to 40%. Separate surveys show Romney trailing Senator Barack Obama (D) and former Senator John Edwards (D) by double digits. A Romney match-up with former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack is much more competitive. Clinton is viewed at least somewhat favorably by 50% of Likely Voters and unfavorably by 48%.
