53% Say Iran War Somewhat or Very Likely

Fifty-three percent (53%) of Likely Voters believe it is somewhat or very likely that the United States will be in a war with Iran within a year. A Rasmussen Reports national survey found that 30% believe war with Iran is not very likely while just 6% say it is not at all likely. Forty-eight percent (48%) of Republicans say war with Iran is at least somewhat likely. That view is shared by 59% of Democrats and 49% of those not affiliated with either major party. Younger voters are more likely than their elders to believe War with Iran is likely. Those who support the President are less likely to see a war with Iran in our immediate future. However, even among those who strongly approve of the President's Job Performance, 42% say war is at least somewhat likely. Following the State-of-the-Union Address, 60% of voters support the President's plans to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. That includes support from 80% of Republicans and 47% of Democrats. Crosstabs available for Premium Members.
