36% Rate Public Schools ‘Poor’; Most Parents Approve Homeschooling
Less than a third of Americans think the country’s public schools are doing a good or excellent job, and most parents of school-age children approve of homeschooling.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that just nine percent (9%) of American Adults rate the performance of public schools in America today as excellent. Twenty-two percent (22%) rate America’s schools good, 30% rate them fair and 36% give public schools a poor rating. These findings are barely changed from a year ago. The survey of 1,095 American Adults was conducted on August 16-17 and 20, 2023 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research.
