While Americans continue to have mixed feelings on the possibility of finding work, they still believe it’s possible for anyone to dig themselves out of an economic hole.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 44% of Adults say it’s possible for anyone who really wants to work to find a job, while just as many (44%) disagree. Thirteen percent (13%) are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Americans have been evenly divided on this question since July 2009. This number was at its lowest point in January 2010 when it dipped to 39% and was at its highest a year earlier at 52%.
The survey of 1,000 Adults nationwide was conducted on March 17-18, 2011 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.
