Missouri Senate: Blunt (R) Still Holds Lead On Carnahan (D)
Republican Congressman Roy Blunt continues to hold an eight-point lead over Democrat Robin Carnahan in Missouri’s race for the U.S. Senate.
The latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters shows Blunt picking up 51% of the vote, while Carnahan, Missouri’s current secretary of state, draws 43% support. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and two percent (2%) are undecided.
Two weeks ago, Blunt held a 52% to 44% edge over Carnahan. In 15 surveys conducted since September 2009, Blunt has earned between 44% and 53% support. Carnahan’s support has fallen in the range of 40% to 46% over the same period.
The race continues to be rated Leans GOP in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Senate Balance of Power rankings. Blunt and Carnahan are running for the seat being vacated by retiring GOP Senator Christopher "Kit" Bond.

This survey of 750 Likely Voters in Missouri was conducted on October 5, 2010 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/-4 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
