27% Have Already Started Holiday Shopping

Some adults seem to be getting a head start on their holiday shopping this year. With about seven weeks left until Christmas, 27% say they’ve already begun shopping for the season. That figure includes 31% of women and 24% of men. Sixty-nine percent (69%) are waiting to get started--some until after Thanksgiving and some perhaps until the very last minute.

Most Americans plan to celebrate this Fourth of July with a big bang. Seventy-six percent (76%) say they’re likely to watch fireworks during the weekend, while just 22% won’t watch the sky sparkle.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Just 7% of Americans consider the March 17 celebration one of the nation’s most important holidays, but 47% say they will wear green in honor of the occasion. Twenty-six percent (26%) say they’ll have a drink to commemorate the holiday and 18% will attend a St. Patrick’s Day party. Not surprisingly, more young adults will toast the holiday than their elders.
