The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Republican Primary voters in Ohio found John McCain ahead of Mike Huckabee 55% to 29%. Ron Paul earns support from 7% while 9% are not sure.

Those numbers are relatively unchanged since the last survey conducted last week, when McCain was ahead by 27.

If McCain is nominated by the Republican party, 80% of Ohio Republican Primary voters believe he is at least somewhat likely to win the presidency. Just 15% disagree.

McCain is viewed favorably by 79% of voters and unfavorably by 18%. Meanwhile, Huckabee is viewed faborably by 71% and unfavorably by 27%. Paul earns positive reviews by 31% and negative reviews from 56% of Republican voters.

Just 28% of Likely Republican Primary Voters believe the North American Free Trade Agreement—NAFTA—is good for America. Forty-eight percent (55%) say the trade agreement negotiated by the Clinton Administration is bad for the nation.

Like most of the country, the plurality of Ohio voters see the economy as the most important issue in the upcoming presidential election. While 33% see the economy as the top issue, 22% see National Security as the most important, while 15% choose the War in Iraq.

Nationally, the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll shows McCain in potentially close races with both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. In most recent state general election match-ups, McCain matches up better against Clinton.
