In Minnesota, the race for the White House is tightening. The latest Rasmussen Reports survey shows Senator Kerry with 48% of the vote and President Bush with 44%. A month ago, Kerry had a 7-point lead. ahead 49%-42%. The month before, it was Kerry 50% and Bush 41%. Four years ago, Al Gore won the state with a narrow two-point margin of victory over George W. Bush. As a result of this latest survey, Minnesota moves from "Leans Kerry" to "Toss-Up" in our Electoral College projections. At this point in the campaign, we consider states a Toss-Up unless one of the candidates leads by five points or more. Nationwide, the number of Toss-Up states has been growing as Election Day draws near.. Forty-nine percent (49%) of all Minnesota voters Approve of the way President Bush is performing his job. That's up a point from a month ago and two points from the month before, but still slightly below his national Job Approval rating. Leading up to the Republican National Convention, we have released state polling data in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio.
