California: Kerry 55% Bush 37%

In California, the latest Rasmussen Reports survey finds Senator John F. Kerry with an18-point lead over President George W. Bush, 55% to 37%. In Election 2000, Bush lost California to Al Gore by 11 points.

Last month, Kerry had a 14-point lead. The month before Kerry was ahead of Bush 49% to 41%. The new results have no impact on our Electoral College totals since California was already in the Kerry column.

Kerry leads in California among men and women, Investors and non-Investors.

Forty-five percent (45%) of California voters Approve of the way President Bush is performing his job. That's up three points from a month ago... and significantly lower than his national Job Approval rating.

Data for California will be updated again early next month.
