Alabama: Bush 53% Kerry 42%

In Alabama, President Bush leading by 11 percentage points over Senator Kerry. The latest Rasmussen Reports survey shows Bush with 53% of the vote while Kerry has 42%.

Those results are identical to our last survey in the state, completed just before the Republican National Convention. Earlier in the campaign season, Bush had larger leads in Alabama.

Four years ago, in Election 2000, Bush carried the state by a 57% to 41% margin.

Bush is viewed favorably by 59% of Alabama voters. Only 47% have a favorable opinion of Kerry.

Sixty percent (60%) of all Alabama voters Approve of the way President Bush is performing his job. That's up two points from our last poll and well above his national Job Approval rating.
