Regardless of who they plan to vote for, 46% of all voters now believe the Bush-Cheney ticket will be re-elected while 44% say the Kerry-Edward team will win. That's quite a change from a month ago when 53% of American voters believed Bush would be re-elected and just 35% said Kerry would win. The biggest difference is that Democrats are a lot more confident today than they were a month ago. Eighty-three percent (83%) of Kerry voters believe their man will win. That's up thirteen points from 70% a month ago. Among liberal voters, 64% think Kerry will win. That's up from 49% a month ago. There is virtually no change in the GOP perspective over the past month. Eighty-seven percent (87%) of Bush voters and 80% of all Republicans think the Bush-Cheney ticket will be hired for another term. At this point in time, John Edwards is perceived more favorably than the man he hopes to replace, Dick Cheney. We have recently updated our polling results for Florida, Massachusetts, Texas, New Jersey, North Carolina and California. Results for a total of more than 20 states will be released this week. Our Electoral College projections will be updated as appropriate.
