Few Americans Think Complete E-Mail Privacy is Still Possible

Americans are pretty avid e-mail users, but they accept that their e-mail communications will likely never be completely private.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 67% of American Adults use e-mail every day, while 14% more use it almost every day. That’s up from 59% and 12% respectively in January 2015. Seven percent (7%) use e-mail at least once a week, and four percent (4%) use it several times a month. Only seven percent (7%) say they never use e-mail, down from 11% last year. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 1,000 Adults was conducted on August 1-2, 2016 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
