What They Told Us: Reviewing Last Week’s Key Polls

In surveys last week, this is what America told Rasmussen Reports:

  - President Trump ended the polling week on Friday with a daily job approval of 49%.

  - After years of Republicans complaining about censorship, Democrats now have more concern about protecting First Amendment rights

  - Major news media organizations are widely distrusted by Republican and independent voters.

  - Vice President J.D. Vance has a wide lead over other potential contenders for the 2028 Republican presidential nomination.

  - When it comes to keeping his campaign promises, President Donald Trump is rated better than his predecessor, but many voters still have their doubts.

  - As President Donald Trump meets with Russian President Vladimir Putin, less than half of American voters expect a deal to end the war in Ukraine.

  - Economic confidence decreased to 111.8 in this month’s Rasmussen Reports Economic Index, more than four points lower than July.

  - Americans overwhelmingly believe young people spend too much time using their cell phones

  - Forty-three percent (43%) of Likely U.S. Voters think the country is heading in the right direction
