Trump Gets Mixed Reviews on China Policy

President Donald Trump’s recent trip to Beijing has encouraged some optimism about America’s trade with China, but many don’t view his policy as an improvement over his predecessor’s.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 39% of Likely U.S. Voters believe Trump’s policy toward China is better than President Biden’s China policy, but 37% say it’s worse than Biden’s. Thirteen percent (13%) think Trump’s and Biden’s China policy is about the same, and 11% are not sure. In January 2021, Biden’s China policy was deemed worse by 50% of voters. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
