Support for H-1B Program Remains High
The federal H-1B visa program continues to be approved by most voters, even though many are angry about how many foreign workers are hired.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 62% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of the H-1B program, which allows companies to temporarily employ foreign workers in specialty occupations such as technology. That includes 26% who Strongly Approve of the program. Just 25% disapprove of H1-B visas, including 10% who Strongly Disapprove, while 13% are not sure. Approval of the H-1B program has declined just slightly since last November. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
