Kamala Harris Still Leads 2028 Field for Democrats
Former Vice President Kamala Harris remains the favorite for the 2028 Democratic Party presidential nomination.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that, if the 2028 primary were held today, 34% of Likely Democratic Primary Voters would vote for Harris, who lost the 2024 election to Donald Trump after former President Joe Biden was forced to quit his reelection campaign. The survey of 1,155 U.S. Likely Voters was conducted on January 25-27, 2026 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC.
