Democrats Should Work With Trump, Most Voters Say
Many Democrats in Congress appear committed to totally opposing President Donald Trump, but most voters think cooperation would be better.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 55% of Likely U.S. Voters believe it is better for the Democratic Party if Democrats try to work with Trump, while 36% say it’s better for Democrats to oppose Trump in every way possible. Eight years ago, after Trump took office in his first term, 63% thought it would be better for Democrats to cooperate with Trump. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 1,195 U.S. Likely Voters was conducted on February 3-5, 2025 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC.
