Voters Expect Trump to Move Supreme Court to the Right

Voters put a lot of stock in the selection of the next U.S. Supreme Court justice this election cycle , and most believe President-elect Donald Trump will nominate justices who are strict constitutionalists. They are more divided as to whether Trump’s nominees will be too conservative or about right politically.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 39% of Likely U.S. Voters believe Supreme Court justices nominated by Trump will be too conservative, while only six percent (6%) say they’ll be too liberal. Forty-two percent (42%), however, think his picks will be about right politically. Thirteen percent (13%) are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
