Poll: Confidence in War on Terror Rebounds Slightly

Confidence that the U.S. and its allies are winning the War on Terror has rebounded slightly from the extremely low levels measured in December and again in early January. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 37% of voters believe the U.S. and its allies are winning while 32% hold the opposite view and believe the terrorists are winning. A month ago, just 33% believed the U.S. allies were winning while 36% said the terrorists are winning. The increase in confidence was found primarily among voters not affiliated with either major political party. Among unaffiliateds, 34% now say the U.S. and its allies are winning. That’s up from 26% in our previous survey. Sixty percent (60%) of Republicans believe the U.S. and its allies are winning. Just 18% of Democrats share that view.
