1* Many
proposals have been made to reform the tax code. Generally speaking, is it a
good idea to get rid of the existing income tax code and replace it with something
simpler?
2* Should
someone who earns twice as much as you do pay twice as much in taxes or more
than twice as much in taxes?
3* Would
you favor or oppose replacing the current tax code with a plan that requires
everybody to pay 9% of their income in taxes and a 9% national sales tax?
4* A
proposal has been made that would eliminate all deductions but allow the first
$17,000 that everyone earns to be tax free. There would be no national sales
tax. On all income above $17,000, everybody would pay 17% of their income in
taxes. Would you favor or oppose this proposal?
5* Which concerns you more about tax reform proposals, that
they would generate too much money for the federal government or not enough
money for the federal government?
