1* Has the
media treated President Obama better or worse than it’s treated most prior
presidents? Or has the media coverage been about the same?
2* Think for a
moment about people who oppose President Obama's policies. Do people oppose the
president’s policies primarily because they believe the policies are bad or is
their opposition due to racism?
3* How would
you rate the way the president has handled racial issues during his time in the
White House – excellent, good, fair or poor?
4* Suppose the
president nominates someone to serve as a judge or in a government position who
is legally and professionally qualified for the job. Is it fair for a U.S.
senator to oppose that nominee because of disagreements over ideology or
judicial philosophy?
5*
Regardless of any disagreements, should every presidential nominee be the
subject of a simple yes-or-no vote in the Senate?
