1* How closely have you followed news stories about the
National Security Agency’s surveillance program?
2* Some people say that there is a natural tension between
protecting individual rights and national security. In the NSA surveillance
program, have government officials worried too much about protecting individual
rights, too much about protecting national security, or is the balance about
right?
3* A U.S. senator has called for the government to provide
regular reports about how many times it has listened to private phone
conversations or read the private e-mails of U.S. citizens. Without disclosing
specific intelligence information, should the government be required to provide
regular reports about how often it reviews the content of such private
communications?
4* Sometimes, while pursuing a suspected terrorist, the
government inadvertently learns private information about innocent American
citizens. If that happens, should the government be allowed
to maintain a file on the innocent citizen or should that information be
immediately destroyed?
5* How likely is it that the
NSA has monitored private communications of Congress, military leaders and
judges?
