National Survey of 1,000 Likely Voters
Conducted January 19-20, 2014
By Rasmussen Reports

1* How closely have you followed news reports about President Obama’s new policy for the National Security Agency?

2* As part of the effort to fight terrorism, the National Security Agency has been tracking telephone calls and e-mails made by millions of Americans. Do you favor or oppose the NSA’s tracking of these phone calls and e-mails?

3* In response to concerns raised about the NSA program, the president announced on Friday that he would more tightly restrict the spy agency’s access to Americans’ phone records. Do you trust the president, the executive branch, Congress and federal judges to make sure the program is abiding by the Constitution?

4* As a result of the president’s new policy, is it less likely or more likely that the federal government will monitor the private phone calls of ordinary Americans? Or will that surveillance remain about the same?

5* Is it possible to satisfy public concern about the NSA surveillance program and still keep track of the nation’s terrorist enemies?
