National Survey of 1,000 Likely Voters
Conducted August 9-10, 2013
By Rasmussen Reports
1* How closely have you followed news reports about
President Obama’s most recent press conference?
2* As part of the effort to fight terrorism, the National Security Agency
has been tracking telephone calls made by millions
of ordinary Americans. Do you favor or oppose the NSA’s tracking of
these phone calls?
3* In response to concerns raised about the NSA program, the
president promised in his news conference on Friday to increase
transparency of the nation’s surveillance efforts. Do you trust the president,
the executive branch, Congress and federal judges to make sure the program is
abiding by the Constitution?
4* As a result of
the president’s new policy, is it less likely or more likely that the federal
government will monitor the private phone calls of ordinary Americans? Or will
that surveillance remain about the same?
5* Is it possible to satisfy public concern about the NSA surveillance
program while also keeping the details of the program secret from the nation’s
enemies?
