Less Than Half of U.S. Voters Confident Government Can Protect Pipelines

Last week’s hacker attack that shut down the Colonial Pipeline has raised concerns about the nation’s petroleum supply, and less than half of voters are confident that the federal government can protect against similar attacks in the future.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 42% of Likely U.S. Voters are at least Somewhat Confident in the ability of the federal government to protect against future attacks like the one that shut down the Colonial pipeline, including 15% who are Very Confident. Twenty-nine percent (29%) are Not Very Confident the government can protect against such attacks and 25% are Not At All Confident. (To see survey question wording, click here.) LINK
