Voters Question Length of Campaign, Number of Democratic Debates

A sizable majority of voters still believes the campaign for the White House every four years goes on too long, and half complain that Democrats are overdoing it when it comes to debates.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 70% of Likely U.S. Voters think the campaign lasts too long in a presidential election season. Just 17% disagree, while 13% are undecided. These findings are virtually unchanged from the last two presidential election cycles. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted December 30. 2019 and January 2, 2020 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.
