20% Will Wait To May 17 To File Taxes

The Internal Revenue Service has extended the deadline for filing 2020 income taxes to May 17, but most Americans still plan to file by April 15 as usual. Fewer are worried about an IRS audit this year.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that just 20% of American Adults say they will wait until May 17 to file their income taxes. Forty percent (40%) have already filed, while another 30% intend to do so by April 15. Ten percent (10%) are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
