50% Give Trump ‘Poor’ Grade on Iran Policy
The decision to go to war with Iran was wrong, most voters say, and most don’t think President Donald Trump is doing a good job on the issue.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 37% of Likely U.S. Voters rate Trump’s handling of policy toward Iran good or excellent, while 50% give him a poor rating on Iran policy. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Fifty-six percent (56%) believe that, in hindsight, the decision to go to war in Iran was the wrong decision. The survey of 1,185 U.S. Likely Voters was conducted on September 3 and 6-7, 2026 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC.
