2008 Democratic Presidential Primary: Clinton, Obama Have Top-Tier to Themselves

As the first half of 2007 drew to a close, New York Senator Hillary Clinton remained the clear frontrunner for the Democratic Presidential nomination. The final Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey before the holiday break showed the former First Lady with 39% of the vote, her highest total of the year. Just as important, Clinton has been gaining ground steadily in recent months. Over the past four weekly polls, the Democratic frontrunner averaged 38% of the vote.
