Rhode Island Governor: Carcieri Up Three

Carcieri (R) 47%; Fogarty (D) 44%

Incumbent Donald Carcieri’s (R) lead has been extended by a single point in Rhode Island’s gubernatorial race. The latest Rasmussen Reports election survey shows Carcieri leading Lt. Governor Charles Fogarty (D) 47% to 44%. Carcieri’s numbers remain unchanged from our previous survey while Fogarty has dropped a point.

Carcieri’s support is a bit more solid than Fogarty’s. Eighty-three percent (83%) of his supporters are certain they will vote for him. Just 74% of Fogarty’s voters are that certain.
