41% See Kerry as Politically Moderate

43% Say Liberal

As John Kerry prepares to formally accept the Democratic Presidential nomination, 41% of likely voters see the Senator as politically moderate while 43% believe he is politically liberal. These results are similar to data from two months ago confirming once again that the campaign spending and hoopla has done little to change the underlying dynamic of Election 2004. When all is said and done, the election will turn on public perceptions of two fundamental issues--the situation in Iraq and the economy.
