Most Voters Support Commission to Investigate Capitol Riot
A majority of voters support the creation of a commission to investigate the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 58% of Likely U.S. Voters approve congressional plans to create a commission, like the one that investigated the 9/11 terrorist attacks, to investigate the January 6 riot. That includes 42% who Strongly Approve of the commission proposal. Thirty-five percent (37%) disapprove of the riot commission plan, including 23% who Strongly Disapprove. The survey of 1,000 U.S. Likely Voters was conducted on May 23-24, 2021 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
