New High of 60% Say China Should Pay Some of World’s Coronavirus Costs
More voters than ever consider China an enemy and think the Asian giant should pick up the tab for at least some of the global costs of the coronavirus.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 60% of Likely U.S. Voters now think China should pay at least some of the financial costs that have resulted from the global transmission of the coronavirus which originated in a Chinese city. That’s up from 42% when Rasmussen Reports first asked this question in mid-March and 53% in late July. Only 24% believe China should not be made to pay some of these costs, while 16% are undecided. The survey of 1,000 Likely U.S. Voters was conducted November 15-16, 2020 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
