Voters See Asa Hutchinson as Long Shot for 2024
Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced his bid for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination in April, but few voters view him as a contender, and many don’t seem to know who he is.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that only 16% of Likely U.S. Voters believe Hutchinson is likely to end up being the Republican presidential nominee in 2024, including just five percent (5%) who see his nomination as Very Likely. Seventy-one percent (65%) don’t think it’s likely Hutchinson will get the GOP nomination next year, including 38% who say it is Not At All Likely. Hutchinson’s numbers rival those of former New Jersey Gov. Christie as the worst measured so far for any 2024 Republican presidential candidate. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 1,054 U.S. Likely Voters was conducted on June 28-29 and July 2, 2023 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research.
