Homeless Problem Getting Worse, Most Americans Say
Homelessness is a very serious problem that’s getting worse, according to a majority of Americans.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 86% of American Adults believe the homelessness problem in America is serious, including 55% who see it as a Very Serious problem. Only 10% don’t consider homelessness in America a serious problem. Last October, 92% said homelessness was a serious problem. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 1,072 American Adults was conducted on May 11 and 14-15, 2023 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research.
