National Survey of 800 American Adults

Conducted February 21-22, 2015

By Rasmussen Reports

1* Who should set the education standards for schools - local government, state government or the federal government?

2* What's the biggest problem in schools today - poor teachers, bad curriculum, not enough funding, lack of discipline or not enough parent involvement?

3* Is there too much emphasis or not enough emphasis placed on standardized tests in schools these days, or is the balance about right?

4* In many states, a school’s performance rating is based on how well students do on statewide standardized testing. Should student scores on standardized tests be the major factor in determining how well a school is doing?

5* Is there too much emphasis on “teaching to the test” because of this standardized testing?

6* Should parents be allowed to opt their children out of taking standardized tests?

7* Is discipline in public schools too tough, too easy or about right?

8* Is it harder for a teacher to maintain discipline in the classroom today than it was when you were a child in school?
