1*
Oregon has dropped the requirement that students be proficient in reading,
writing and mathematics before graduating from high school. Do you favor a law
in your state that says high school students do not need to be proficient in
reading, writing and mathematics to graduate?
2*
Oregon's governor in signing the law said she did it to benefit "Black,
Latino, Latina, Latinx, Indigenous, Asian, Pacific Islander, Tribal and
students of color." Is it good or bad for those students in Oregon that
they will no longer need to be proficient in reading, writing and mathematics
to graduate from high school? Or will it make no difference?
3*
Will students who earn a high school diploma without proficiency in reading,
writing and mathematics find it easier or harder to succeed in the workplace or
in college? Or will it make no difference?
