59% Rate Their Own Lives As Good Or Excellent

Although the nation is facing hard economic times, most Americans still regard their own life positively.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 59% of American Adults rate their own lives today as good or excellent, including 22% who say their life is excellent.  Just nine percent (9%) rate their lives today as poor.  (To see survey question wording, click here).

The number of Americans who give their life positive marks shows little change from last year, but is down nine points from May 2006 when 68% felt that way.

Looking back to high school, 68% of Americans rate those years as good or great, with 29% who say high school was a great time in their life.  These findings are up slightly from this time last year.  Four percent (4%) rate their high school years as poor.
