Greetings, Earthlings: 37% Think Space Aliens Have Visited Planet
Most Americans intelligent life exists somewhere else in the universe, and many believe the Earth has had visitors from outer space.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 55% of American Adults think it is likely intelligent life exists on other planets – down from 71% in June 2023 – including 40% who believe it’s Very Likely. Twenty-nine percent (29%) say it’s not likely intelligent life exists on other planets and 16% say they’re not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 1,258 American Adults was conducted April 24-25 and 28, 2024, 2024 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
