Achoo! 75% Suffer From Allergies or Know Someone Who Does

Thursday, March 24, 2011

Spring is finally here after a long and snowy winter for much of the country, but for most Americans, that also means allergy season.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of American Adults shows that 75% suffer from allergies or know someone who does. Just 22% say this is not the case. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Sixty percent (60%) of adults with allergies or who know someone who has them say the spring triggers them more than any other season. Thirty percent (30%) say spring is not the worst season for allergies, while 10% are not sure.

Most adults who suffer from allergies or know someone who does (73%) say medication is used to treat them.
