Backyard Fireworks Remain Popular This Fourth of July

Sales of consumer fireworks are booming, and many Americans expect they’ll be lighting up their own backyard displays to celebrate Independence Day this year.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 29% of American Adults say it’s likely they will shoot fireworks at their own home during the Fourth of July weekend, including 15% who think it’s Very Likely. That’s slightly down from 31% last year.  Seventy percent (70%) don’t expect to be shooting backyard fireworks this year, including 49% who say it’s Not At All Likely.
