Facebook Still No. 1 Social Media Platform

Despite the political rumbles on X and trendy young influencers posting Instagram selfies, Facebook remains America’s most widely used social media platform.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 50% of American Adults use Facebook several times a week, including 32% who use the platform every day or nearly every day. Fifteen percent (15%) use Facebook once a week or less, while 29% rarely or ever use it. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 1,300 American Adults was conducted on April 22-23 and 26, 2026 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
