54% Say Holiday Shopping Nearly Finished

With more than a week-and-a-half to go until Christmas, 54% of Americans say their holiday shopping is finished or almost finished for 2004. At Thanksgiving, just 24% were that far along. At the other end of the spectrum, 8% have not yet started their shopping. That's down from 26% at Thanksgiving. Thirty percent (30%) say they will spend more this holiday season than they did a year ago while 28% say they will spend less. Forty-two percent (42%) say their spending will be about the same.
