NYC Worker Confidence Reaches Record High in May
New York City worker confidence hit an all-time high, as the city’s Hudson Employment Index (SM) rose 2.5 points to 101.2. Greater hiring expectations triggered the increase in the monthly measure of worker confidence and helped it rise above the 100-baseline for the first time. The latest monthly measure of worker confidence for the Big Apple is well above last May’s reading of 89.4. The composite Index , which is based on responses from approximately 9,000 workers nationwide, held steady in May, edging up 0.6 points to 106.9.
