Worker Confidence Drops to ’06 Low
After recording two consecutive increases, confidence among manufacturing workers plunged in September. The sector’s Hudson Employment Index ( SM) dropped 11.3 points to 86.1, the lowest reading so far in 2006. Personal finance concerns and lower hiring expectations contributed to the decline. Despite this decline, the latest reading is nearly 10 points higher than last September, when the country was coping with the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita
