1* Under current federal law, employers
are only required to pay overtime to salaried workers earning less than $23,660
a year. A proposal has been made to raise that requirement so that workers
earning up to $50,440 a year would now be eligible for overtime. Will
increasing the number of people eligible for overtime help or hurt the economy,
or will it have no impact?
2* Which will do more to help the
U.S. economy—decisions made by government officials to help the economy grow or
decisions made by U.S. business leaders to help their own businesses grow?
3* Are more laws needed to protect the rights of workers in the
United States or are there already enough laws in place?
