What They Told Us: Reviewing Last Week’s Key Polls - Week Ending August 6, 2022

In surveys last week, this is what America told Rasmussen Reports:

- President Biden ended the polling week with a daily job approval of 43%.

- Despite denials from the White House, most voters think the American economy is in a recession – and agree that Democrats are to blame for it.

- Rapid population growth has transformed Colorado, and most voters in the state say the change is for the worse.

- The president earned a monthly job approval of 41% in July, up one point from June. Fifty-eight percent (58%) disapproved of his job performance in July, unchanged from June.

- More Americans would rather live in rural areas or small towns than in cities, and Florida leads the list of states where they’d move if they had the chance.

- The 2022 midterm elections are now 95 days away, and Republicans have a three-point lead in their bid to recapture control of Congress.

- Negative opinions about the job market have increased since spring and, by a 12-point margin, more Americans expect unemployment to increase in the next year.

- Most Americans believe summer camp is an important experience for children, although fewer think so than in previous years.

- Twenty-six percent (26%) of Likely U.S. Voters think the country is heading in the right direction.
