What They Told Us: Reviewing Last Week’s Key Polls - Week Ending December 5, 2020

In surveys last week, this is what America told Rasmussen Reports:

- President Trump ended the polling week with a daily job approval of 49%.

- Despite the explosive economic growth of the last four years interrupted only by the coronavirus lockdown, most voters want to return to the economic policies of President Obama.

- Trump earned a monthly job approval of 50% in November, up one point from October and tying his high for the year to date first reached in September.

- Americans continue to agree with the Trump administration that the U.S. Census should include a citizenship question and say illegal immigrants should not be counted when congressional seats are being apportioned.

- Americans are holiday shopping at their usual pace but aren’t planning to spend as much as they have in the last several years.

- The coronavirus is far and away the top action item on likely new President Joe Biden’s list as far as voters are concerned.

- U.S. voters now regard each other as a bigger enemy than Russia or North Korea and just as dangerous as China.

- The Rasmussen Reports Immigration Index for the week of November 22-24, 2020 fell to 95.8 from 96.6 the week before. This is the third time in the four weeks since Election Day that the Index has closed below its baseline, indicating that voters want tighter immigration control.

- Americans are still confident about where the country is headed, but Democrats are a lot more optimistic than others that the best is still to come.

- Thirty-two percent (32%) of Likely U.S. Voters think the country is heading in the right direction.
