25% Say U.S. Heading in Right Direction

Just 25% of Likely U.S. Voters say the country is heading in the right direction, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey taken the week ending Sunday, March 27. That's up three points from two weeks earlier which marked the lowest level of voter confidence since President Obama took office in January 2009.

Sixty-eight percent (68%) of voters now say the country is heading down the wrong track, down three points from last week. Only 48% of Democrats feel this way, however, compared to 85% of Republicans and 72% of voters not affiliated with either major political party.

Since Obama because president, confidence in the nation's current course has ranged from a high of 35% in late March/early April 2009 to a low of 22% two weeks ago.

Confidence that the country is moving in the right direction now stands at 41% among Democrats, down from 59% the week before Election Day. Only 11% of Republicans and 23% of voters not affiliated with either major political party share that view.
